THE GAME
Escape on Purpose is a fun, interactive entertainment activity. It is a real-life escape room game for groups of 3-10 people. While the goal is simple, the game is challenging: work as a team, testing your wits and skills to escape the room in under 60 minutes. You will work together by finding clues, solving puzzles and conquering challenges. The escape room is conveniently located near Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, Apex and Raleigh.

We have supported three charities through our business since it started in 2017. When you book you will choose one of the three charities as part of the checkout process. These choices from the teams that have visited escape on purpose will be tallied and used to allocate a portion of our profits. Currently the charities are Wounded Warriors, Step Up Durham and Independent Animal Rescue. The heart in our key is giving and the E is the escape.

Captain, your submarine has survived a devastating depth charge attack, but there's not much time to celebrate. Before they circle back and finish you off, you need to bring the sub to periscope depth and launch a counter-attack to protect you and your crew. Sonar readings reveal that you have 60 minutes to complete your mission. You must launch the torpedo within the hour!! Failure is a one way trip to Davy Jones' Locker.

It’s 2834. You and your crew are returning from a very successful deep space mission, when in an instant, you go from smooth sailing to 'abandon ship.' A irreversible warp core breach has occurred, and your captain has fled in the last escape pod on board! With no nearby planets to shelter yourself on, you find yourselves burdened with the task of opening the impossibly locked transporter room door to beam yourself back to safety. It would seem a minor task, and for all you know, maybe it is; when you assess the situation, you decide that having no starship experience is only a minor setback.

When you make a wrong turn on a road trip one night, you end up at an odd B&B at the edge of town. However, it seems that the innkeepers have mistaken you for a group of detectives they hired. Willing to do anything for a free room, you stay to help out... but the longer you're there, the more questions you have. What happened to the man who owned this place before? Is that the normal way to play chess? And are the candles supposed to light themselves? Perhaps this B&B's common room is not so common after all. The strangeness only lasts for one hour a night--can you crack the case before then? Or will you be outed as frauds, while the mystery remains eternally unsolved?

Welcome to Dirt Cheap Airlines where we pass the savings (and the risk) onto you. You're on a flight back to North Carolina, when your pilot mysteriously gets locked our ot the cockpit. Your plane is heading out over the Atlantic. It's critical to get that pilot back in the cockpit and turn around to land safely. Due to recent budget cuts, you only have one hour of fuel left, so you must hurry! Before that seat cushion becomes a floatation device...

Covid-19 Response?
We have safety precautions in place that will help provide a safe game environment:
We leave the decision on whether to mask or not to the folks that come to escape on purpose.
If there is a question that someone in your group may have Covid then the reservation can be moved to a future date at no charge.
Hand sanitizer is provided before and after the game.
Is there an age limit?
Families are welcome and we can discuss accommodations in the rooms for younger family members and special access. We ask that groups under 18 either have a chaperone in the room or on site for crowd control if needed. For parties there is no charge for non-participating chaperones. We can discuss options with you as you plan your event.
What should we bring to the game?
Bring your inner genius, a great attitude and a good sense of humor. No need to bring in cellphones or other electronic devices. Note, please no photography inside the rooms.
Am I really going to be “locked” in a room?
No. You will be in a room with a secure door, but every door is equipped with an exit button. Should you feel the need to leave the room, you are welcome to do so at any time.
How early should I arrive for my game?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your game start time. Games will begin exactly at their start times and being late might cause you to have less than sixty minutes to play.
How do I pay?
All games are paid online at the time of booking.
Do you offer refunds?
All of our games are non-refundable. However, we can reschedule your game if you contact us prior to your game start time.
How long is each game?
Each game is designed for one hour of intense fun! Plan to spend 15 minutes prior to each game preparing and briefing, and 15 minutes after each game to debrief and take photos.
Can we bring food or drink into the games?
We ask that no food or drink is taken into the game rooms. Alcohol is strictly prohibited on our premises.

$30 Per Person
When you book at least three you will reserve the entire room for your group. If your group is only two then you will receive a gift card for the third person. Note, (T)Error in the sky is designed for a max of 10 so extra sets of hands is recommended.
